Hello! I'm Skyler
I have been interested in fashion and design since I was a little girl. I loved to dress up and get my hands on any arts and crafts possible. Honestly, not much has changed except for my love and understanding of the environment. I graduated from Georgia State University, Summa Cum Laude, in December of 2022 with an Environmental Science degree.
I am interested in sustainable design from clothing to packaging. My dream is to consult with established companies to innovate their products to become more environmentally friendly while also improving overall design aesthetics. I initially became inspired to work with sustainable designs when I was in my freshman year of college at Clemson University. I noticed how anytime I ordered something small like a pair of tweezers from Amazon, the packaging would be extreme. A box within a box within the original tweezer box all wrapped up in bubble wrap and tape... for a pair of tweezers? Fall of 2022 I opened a boutique store in Atlanta, Georgia called Bombshell Lingerie. I wanted to create my own brand, altering garments slightly to create custom pieces. Now that my brand is more established, I would like to combine my two passions for the environment and fashion to find a way to create fashionable pieces without compromising my environmental footprint.
Aside from being an environmentalist and designer, I love to travel to new countries. Summer of 2022 I spent two months in Europe, I started in Portugal and drove all the way to Italy! As a native Spanish speaker, I was able to navigate through countries and communicate with locals. In my free time I enjoy learning new languages, trying new foods, and trying out hobbies (I think pickleball is next).
Atlanta Riverwalk
I serve as an Environmental Engineer and chairman for this project. My partner purchased 10 miles of riverfront property on the Chattahoochee River in Atlanta, Georgia. Together we have been working towards bringing river access to Atlantans. This project is important for the ecology of the Chattahoochee River as well as for the surrounding community. This will become a landmark project for the city as it will bring economic prosperity to a low-income area while allocating affordable housing units (AHU) for current residents. Bombshell Lingerie
I serve as the Chief Operating Officer and Creative Director of Bombshell Lingerie. I manage our store directly and run our social media. I have hand-chosen every piece in our store. In addition, most of our pieces are altered in-house to make each piece one of a kind. Bombshell opened in the Winter of 2022 and has quickly started to become an Atlanta landmark between the great selection of items along with the statement shoe out front!
Geographic Information Systems
I had the opportunity to take three Geographic Information Systems (GIS) courses during my time at Georgia State University. I was able to become proficient in the software and learn new methods to create user-friendly maps that are easy to understand.
